Grace Groups seasons run in Fall from September until mid-November, Winter from January through mid-March and Spring from end of March through May. In the fall, we have Grace Group sign-ups, but you are always welcome to join at any time during any season. You can talk with Emme Billau or submit your information here if you are interested in participating.
Grace Groups are the primary way we connect people in to the community of our church. Groups will meet 1 1/2 hours a week. They can meet in a variety of locations such as homes, church, a park, group space at a restaurant, etc. On a designated Sunday each month, all of the groups will meet at the church from 5-6:30 for a time of prayer, praise and worship unless specified otherwise. During the following three weeks of the month, groups can meet whenever works best for the small group leader.
Grace Groups Schedule
Groups that would like to use the free child care provided by the church will Sunday evening from 4:00-5:30 with child care open from 4:30-7:00. (As a side note, dinner or snacks will not be provided at child care so kids will need to eat before they arrive.)
Most groups spend part of their meeting time getting to know one another (often around food!), and the rest of the meeting in a Bible Study. Many groups use discussion questions about the previous sermon provided the Sunday before their meeting. Some groups have Bible study on particular topics such as finances or marriage.
Each time there is a 5th Sunday, groups can choose to take the week off, have a date night or preferably do a service project. Service projects could include helping another member in the group or elderly church member with a work project at their house; serving at places like Harvesters, TARC or the Rescue Mission; serving during “Share Fest” or “Hands on Topeka”. If you need any ideas for such projects, please contact Emme.
